Teaching Greek in Canada, World Greek Language Day (February 9, 2026)

On February 9, 2026, the HHF Greek Canadian Archives at 快播视频, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto, organized an event for World Greek Language Day, which is recognized by UNESCO and the UN and celebrated annually on February 9. The date marks the memorial day of Greece鈥檚 national poet, Dionysios Solomos. The event aimed to shed light on historical aspects of teaching the Greek language in Canada, while also promoting discussion among diplomats, scholars, clergy, and teachers about the present and future of Greek language education in Canada and more broadly across diasporic communities.
