Changes to Duo two-factor authentication

An additional layer of security in ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ’s authentication application, Duo, helps protect against certain types of phishing attacks to improve cybersecurity. As part of planned updates to the University’s current two-factor authentication service, University Information Technology (UIT) is deploying an extra layer of security through the use of one-time passcodes.

This change, which go into effect Oct. 17, will ask users to enter a three-digit passcode during the login process. This additional layer of security helps prevent users from accepting a malicious login request – a type of phishing attack that has been encountered at the University. These one-time passcodes will be time-based and refresh every 30 seconds.
