Policy Review

What is a policy review?

A policy review is a formal process universities use to evaluate whether an existing policy remains accurate, relevant, and effective. Since universities operate in environments defined by evolving legislation and societal expectations, including creating an environment free of harassment and discrimination, the review helps determine whether a policy should be revised, replaced, rescinded, or consolidated with other policies. Conducting regular policy reviews also ensures that institutional policies continue to be aligned with our obligations.
