Student Leadership Training & Skills Development

As part of Student Community and Leadership Development (SCLD), our goal is to build and support student leadership at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, by focusing on developing the  outlined within the  program. Our programming will focus on increasing students’ leadership capacity, community engagement & social impact on campus.

Throughout the Fall/Winter Semester, the Centre for Student Community & Leadership Development offers a variety of Leadership Workshops to the Student Community. Our leadership workshops offer a rage of topics focused targeted to student leaders on campus while creating new opportunities for emerging and aspiring student leaders.

Peer Leader Training is designed to help student leaders in paid and volunteer positions gain knowledge about core training topics that will help them perform their best throughout the year. Students will also network with other peer leaders and professional staff from across the university.

In addition to the Peer Leader Training Conference, the Centre for Student Community & Leadership Development has created online modules and webinars to support self guided leadership development. The PLT curriculum is divided into two parts: Core Foundational Training & Advanced Training,

Becoming YU provides students with a framework to set meaningful goals, identify the skills they want to develop to achieve those goals and provide them with tools to reflect on and track their progress. Through Becoming YU students will recognize the value of their experiences, have greater clarity about their leadership and career goals, and articulate their skills and accomplishments with confidence!

Designed to offer 1:1 or small group coaching for elected leaders of Student Clubs and Governments, our team at SCLD offers ongoing mentorship meetings, coffee chats, and resources to enhance leadership and project management skills.
