Membership Categories:
FACULTY ASSOCIATE
Faculty Associates are full-time, tenure-stream and non-tenure-stream faculty at 快播视频 who are actively involved in research on Asia or an Asian Diaspora and committed to the Centre鈥檚 . Click for more information and to access the .
GRADUATE ASSOCIATE
Graduate Associates are students registered in graduate programs at 快播视频 and engaged in research on Asia or Asian Diasporas as defined by the YCAR . Click to for more information and to access the .
UNDERGRADUATE ASSOCIATE
Undergraduate Associates are 快播视频 students who are engaged in primary research projects on Asia or an Asian Diaspora, usually in association with an undergraduate honours dissertation or some other extended research engagement. Click for more information and to access the .
EXTERNAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
External Research Associates include individuals whose primary affiliation is outside of York, with universities and other educational institutions, governments, the private sector or nongovernmental and not鈥恌or鈥恜rofit organizations, and who are actively involved in research on Asia or an Asian Diaspora, as defined by the YCAR . They must be undertaking, collaborating in or developing a research project or initiative associated with YCAR and/or the YCAR Faculty Associate supporting their application (which can include active involvement in graduate student research). The External Research Associate category is also open to part-time instructors at 快播视频, and to former graduate associates of YCAR who have completed their programs at York but wish to stay associated with the Centre. The length of term of an External Research Associate shall be decided on a case-by-case basis and may be renewed at the discretion of the Membership Committee. EMERITI FACULTY ASSOCIATE
Emeriti Faculty Associates are individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research on, or understandings of, Asia or an Asian Diaspora. These are usually retired and emeriti scholars from 快播视频. The length of the term shall be decided on a case-by-case basis and may be renewed at the discretion of the Membership Committee. VISITING SCHOLAR
Visiting Scholars are faculty or research professionals at other universities or educational/research institutions whose ongoing research falls within the of YCAR, and who are or intend to be temporarily resident in the Toronto area. Visiting Scholars are appointed for the duration of their stay in Toronto, normally up to one year, and must be nominated and hosted by a YCAR Faculty Associate. It is expected that their visit at YCAR will include collaboration and consultation with their sponsoring YCAR Faculty Associate. Visiting Scholars are expected to be active members of the YCAR community during their visit. The length of term of a Visiting Scholar shall be decided on a case-by-case basis and is not renewable. VISITING GRADUATE ASSOCIATE
Visiting Graduate Associates are graduate students from universities other than York and who are actively involved in research on Asia or an Asian Diaspora. Interested graduate students should be approved as an (as appropriate), with the support of a YCAR Faculty Associate, prior to applying to YCAR. POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE
Postdoctoral Associates are researchers of Asia or Asian Diasporas who have completed a doctorate within the last five years, and who have been awarded post-doctoral funding through an external competition. Click for more information and to access the .

Deadlines
YCAR will contact you after we have received your completed application to confirm receipt and/or if we require additional information before considering your application. All applications go before the YCAR Membership Committee, which meet four times per academic year: 15 January, 15 March, 15 June and 15 October. Applications will be reviewed shortly after each deadline. Please note that the Membership Committee will not review applications outside of these time periods.
