Why was the IP Innovation Clinic Created

Through the IP Innovation Clinic, Prof. D'Agostino puts her scholarship and teaching into practice.

The IP Innovation Clinic is Canada's largest IP clinic and the first legal clinic of its kind, helping inventors and start-ups across with pro bono IP assistance through partnerships with lawyers in private practice. The IP Innovation Clinic was designed to provide pro bono IP assistance to under-resourced inventors, researchers and others while also providing law students with experiential education and client-facing experience. Through this dual mandate, the IP Innovation Clinic works to advance IP sophistication across Canada.

The IP Innovation Clinic works to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across Canada. The Clinic has supported hundreds of researchers, inventors, and start-ups helping offset over $2 million in fees that would have otherwise been billable.
