{"id":396786,"date":"2025-07-02T10:12:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T14:12:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/?p=396786"},"modified":"2025-07-08T10:43:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T14:43:00","slug":"enhance-your-yfile-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/2025\/07\/02\/enhance-your-yfile-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Enhance your 'YFile' experience"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">As part of <em>YFile<\/em>'s ongoing effort to improve communication, we would like to provide faculty and staff with instructions on how to set up automatic image downloads for emails in Outlook.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Enabling automatic image downloads will enhance your <em>YFile <\/em>experience through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Improved visual engagement<\/strong>: automatic image downloads ensure YFile newsletters display as intended, enhancing clarity and interaction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consistent formatting<\/strong>: design and layout remain uniform across all Outlook versions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Faster access<\/strong>: trusted senders like <em>YFile <\/em>can bypass manual image downloads, making it easier for faculty and staff to stay informed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To enable automate image downloads for <em>YFile<\/em>, follow the instructions below.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Outlook desktop<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Outlook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to&nbsp;<strong>Home<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Junk<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Junk E-mail Options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the&nbsp;<strong>Safe Senders<\/strong>&nbsp;tab and click&nbsp;<strong>Add<\/strong>&nbsp;to include <a href=\"mailto:yfile@yorku.ca\">yfile@yorku.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Outlook web<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Outlook in a web browser. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on&nbsp;<strong>Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;(gear icon) &gt;&nbsp;<strong>Mail<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Junk email<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Safe senders and domains<\/strong>, add <a href=\"mailto:yfile@yorku.ca\">yfile@yorku.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note, the choice to modify these settings is up to each individual user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thank you,<br><em>YFile <\/em>staff<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Setting up automatic image downloads in Outlook significantly enhances the user experience for <em>YFile<\/em>.
