York President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri issued this message on Wednesday<\/em>:<\/p>\n

Dear members of the York community:<\/p>\n

The ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ community is relieved that police have arrested a suspect in the recent death of York student Qian Liu, as announced by Toronto Police Service<\/a> at a press conference today. <\/p>\n

Qian Liu’s death has had a profound impact on all of us at York. We appreciate the dedicated effort of the Toronto Police Service and we are pleased that they have apprehended a suspect.<\/p>\n

York Security Services continues to offer assistance as the investigation progresses.<\/p>\n
