York alumnus Rocco Fasano (BA Spec. Hons.\u00a0\u201902) is the recipient of the 2010 Alumni Recognition Award from York\u2019s School of Public Policy\u00a0& Administration. The award recognizes Fasano\u00a0for his \"\"role as\u00a0a mentor to students and new professionals.<\/p>\n

As the award recipient, Fasano will be officially honoured during the graduation dinner for the Master of Public Policy, Administration & Law Program<\/a> in October. He will also deliver a short speech to the graduating class at that time.<\/p>\n

An alumnus of the undergraduate\u00a0Public Policy & Administration (PPA) Program,\u00a0Fasano has remained committed to furthering the interests of students. He has facilitated networking opportunities and acted as a resource and mentor for students and young professionals in the Ontario public service. His connection to York remains strong and he returns to the University\u00a0regularly to deliver lectures for students. He is the co-founder of the Organization of Public Policy\u00a0& Administration Alumni, the\u00a0PPA Program's alumni group. He is currently serving as the group's\u00a0vice-president.<\/p>\n

Immediately after completing his education at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, Fasano was offered a job at the Ministry of Education. After a two-year stay he moved to\u00a0the Ministry of Health\u00a0& Long-Term Care, in a position he obtained through a\u00a0professional contact he made during the PPA Program's summer internship. Since then, Fasano\u00a0has held\u00a0roles of increasing responsibility within the ministry and is currently\u00a0a senior investment consultant in the Investment Planning\u00a0& Management Branch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
