International students must be&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/yorkinternational.yorku.ca\/immigration-overview\/working-in-canada-opportunitiesandrequirements\/\">International Student Employment Fund (ISEF) eligible<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NUMBER OF POSITIONS:&nbsp;1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RATE OF PAY:&nbsp;<\/strong>$17.20-18 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EMPLOYMENT TERM:&nbsp;<\/strong>May-April<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOURS OF WORK:&nbsp;<\/strong>30-34 hours per week in the Summer and 10-13 hours per week Fall\/Winter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Community Ambassador will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and engaging campus environment. This position is responsible for enhancing student awareness of university resources and services, promoting campus events, and supporting a variety of outreach initiatives. The Student Community Ambassador will engage in wayfinding and navigation support, serve as a representative for the Student Community and Leadership Development (SCLD), and promote community engagement through campus wide initiatives, Vari Hall kiosk, and campus tabling operations. Additionally, they will help support York Pride initiatives and contribute to campus-wide communication and promotion efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Community Development and Events Ambassador\u2019s job duties include the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Atmosphere and Campus Enrichment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and implement programming to enhance the overall campus atmosphere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan and execute engaging hallway programs to create casual, spontaneous, impromptu, and interactive moments throughout the campus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize events and campaigns that instill a strong sense of ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ pride.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collect and share feedback with the Student Engagement Coordinator to continuously improve the quality of campus life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Campus Navigation &amp; Resource Support<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manage reservations and operational logistics for the Vari Hall kiosk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate the Keele campus tabling operations, including reservation and distribution of resources. Track and monitor tabling activities and generate reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist students in navigating the campus and finding university resources and services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide clear guidance on locations and directions across campus to enhance student experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote and assist students with navigating academic and student services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide information on campus resources such as counseling, career services, learning skills, and health &amp; well-being.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Engagement &amp; Event Representation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Represent the Student Community and Leadership Development (SCLD) at campus events, including service fairs and university-wide outreach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage with students through open hours, creating opportunities for students to ask questions, provide feedback, and learn more about SCLD services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan and execute cultural displays, interactive kiosk activities, and other community-building events to enhance the campus environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support and promote York Pride initiatives through event participation, resource distribution, and awareness campaigns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outreach &amp; Promotions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assist with outreach strategies to maximize student participation in campus events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and implement communication plans to promote upcoming events, activities, and initiatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Utilize various digital platforms (social media, email newsletters, etc.) to promote activities and increase awareness of events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the timely and effective dissemination of information to the student community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Responsibilities of the \u201cLead\u201d Ambassador Position<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attend weekly meetings with the Coordinator to discuss feedback, direction, strategy, identify team needs, and advises Coordinator on improvements and new initiatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support the daily flow of the SLCD spaces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support events including creating workflow charts, action plans, assisting with planning student organization related events.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Act as the liaison with other departments and represent when the coordinator is unavailable to attend.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Undertake tasks associated with coordinating a smooth and well-functioning team (informational research, distribution of materials, referrals, presentations, create social media content, participate in online discussion boards, answer emails)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare weekly updates on metrics and inform the Coordinator and Manager, Student Life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advise the Coordinator on stock levels of resources in the kiosk, SCLD spaces, coordinate team staffing resources, and troubleshoot all daily operational details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Qualifications<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be Fall\/Winter Domestic or International Work-¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous experience on an SCLD team is an asset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in student engagement initiatives such as student clubs, peer mentor programs, orientation, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in event planning and project management is an asset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to provide accurate information and resources in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel as well as Teams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with Mailchimp, WordPress, and Canva is an asset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work well in a team but also independently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comfortable presenting&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to understand policy and apply it to daily activities as well as educate others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to take initiative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent oral &amp; written communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate experience using various social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) as well as knowledge of social media analytics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of York\u2019s campus, services, and resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge &amp; Experience with SCLD services an asset<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Should understand the basics of student club constitutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Must be available for all mandatory training in May and August&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Location<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>The position is intended to work on-campus and those interested should only apply if they can be present on the Keele campus during designated work hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the event the university decides to pivot to a remote work
