It is designed to support students interested in solving the pressing environmental, health, cultural, socio-economic, political, educational, legal, engineering or resource development challenges facing the Arctic and its peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program makes it possible for senior undergraduate and graduate students to address these issues by providing supplementary funding to offset the additional costs associated with northern travel, accommodations, freight and interpreters.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/research\/robarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/466\/2015\/12\/discontinuous_permafrost.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2181\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"255\" src=\"http:\/\/robarts.info.yorku.ca\/files\/2015\/12\/discontinuous_permafrost-300x255.jpg\" alt=\"discontinuous_permafrost\" class=\"wp-image-2181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/research\/robarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/466\/2015\/12\/discontinuous_permafrost-300x255.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/research\/robarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/466\/2015\/12\/discontinuous_permafrost-1024x872.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/research\/robarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/466\/2015\/12\/discontinuous_permafrost.jpg 1479w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Over 300 ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ graduate and undergraduate students have gained experience conducting research in Canada\u2019s North through the NSTP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are eligible for NSTP funding if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and will be undertaking thesis research (BA, MA or PhD) in all disciplines with a ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ professor in the North during the calendar year (April 1- March 31).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/polar-knowledge\/funding\/student\/nstp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polar Knowledge Canada<\/a> for an overview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The call for applications is closed.
