Competitive bids under $121,200 will be advertised at the discretion of Strategic Procurement Services to maximize the best value for the University. However, acquisitions estimated to cost in excess of $121,200 will be advertised publicly exclusively by Strategic Procurement Services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To purchase goods or services valued over $50K follow the steps below<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column border-top pt-5 is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"font-weight-bold\"><strong>1. BEFORE PURCHASE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete and submit a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/procurement\/py_staff_area\/complete-this-competitive-bid-request\/\">Competitive Bid Request Form<\/a>. Strategic Procurement Services will contact you within two (2) business days of receiving the Competitive Bid Request Form.<br><br><em>Note: depending on the value of the purchase the bid may need to be posted for between 15 and 25 calendar days. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column border-top pt-5 is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"font-weight-bold\"><strong>2. PURCHASE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: This step will be guided by Strategic Procurement Services and will be specific to the purchase. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strategic Procurement Services will work with you to determine the most appropriate procurement approach.<br><br>Should a competitive bid be chosen as the best approach, Strategic Procurement Services will follow three steps to complete the purchase:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Determine the most appropriate competitive bid method<\/strong>, advertise the bid for a minimum of 15 days and collects submissions from vendors (consistent with legislative requirements).<\/li><li><strong>Work with the purchaser to jointly evaluate responses <\/strong>and determine if an award is appropriate. Strategic Procurement Services will then award the contract to most appropriate bidder.<\/li><li><strong>Generate and issue a Purchase Order<\/strong> to the vendor. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Strategic Procurement Services will ask the vendor if they would like to be paid by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/procurement\/vendors-of-record\/how-to-do-business-with-york\/pay-vendors\/\">direct deposit<\/a> and support the vendor to complete an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/finance\/forms\/#directdeposit\">Application for Vendor Direct Deposit Banking Form.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column border-top pt-5 is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"font-weight-bold\"><strong>3.
