Drop-in Advising

In-Person Advising

In-person drop-in advising sessions are available by using QLESS or check in at the front desk at 103 Central Square. Drop-in advising is first-come, first-served. As there is high demand for advising at this time, try joining QLESS drop-ins right when the queue opens in the morning or again when it reopens in the afternoon.

The last advising drop-in session for the day will begin a half hour before the indicated end time.

Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (last meeting starts at 11:30a.m.) and 1:00 - 3:45 p.m. (last meeting starts at 3:30p.m.)

Week of April 6:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (last meeting starts at 11:30a.m.) and 1:00 - 3:45 p.m. (last meeting starts at 3:30p.m.)

Regular schedule will resume the week of April 13.

Virtual Advising

  1. Join our  OR download the QLESS app on your smartphone from  or the iTunes . (Open the app and select "Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies")
  2. Select the Social Sci, Communications & Media Studies Academic Advising queue.
  3. Click Join Now
  4. Fill out your name and phone number.
  5. Fill in a short form regarding your student information. Add any notes for your advisor, including topics you’d like to discuss, and whether you prefer phone or Zoom.
  6. You’ll receive a text message when an academic advisor is ready to see you.

Each drop-in session is about 15-30 minutes, first-come, first-served. The QLESS queue will close once it reaches capacity. Try again later or another day. Please note QLESS estimated wait times are approximate and actual time to be seen may vary depending on advisor availability and duration of each advising session.

Booked Appointments

Academic Advising for Social Science and Communication & Media Studies offers appointments in-person in 103 Central Square or virtually via Zoom or phone except for April 6 (only drop-ins that day). In-person availability will vary depending on the Advisor's schedule. Students may contact their assigned advisor to schedule an appointment or complete the Social Science and Communications & Media Studies advising appointment request form.
